This pass Friday I was really itching to make something......different....new......so I did a little research and find a couple of different, new sewing projects. My first project is Pillowcase Dress...it's very simply and really cute when done with chick patterns and colorful materials. I was so excited to get started that on my way home I stopped by hobby lobby. Not a great place to go for fabric because they don't have a wide variety but I didn't feel like driving out of my way. I found this hot pink poke a dot pattern and here are the results.

Now, you know me.....there is never any wasted fabric!! So with this one I thought out of the box and incorparated a little of my own details. Instead of putting ribbons, I made straps and used what little of the black ribbons I had to put bows on each side. I like the way the dress looks but I'm thinking of adding black and pink satin ribbons along the bottom for the dress. What do you think?

Saturday, the White Settlement Community hosted a HUGE Easter Egg Hunt at the Veterans Park Baseball field. We went to it last year and Noah really enjoyed it!!! So we are making it an event we do every year.

Some of Noah's neighbor hood friends There are four fields, each a different colors, each had time zones for different age groups and each had millions and millions of colorful eggs and candy. It was really hard for the kids to stay by the fence while everyone made their way in but when everyone was in, it was time to count down 5..4...3...2...1....Gooooo!!!

I felt so bad for Noah because every time he would bend over to get an egg/candy some of his eggs in his bucket would fall out and other kids would grab them. The good thing about it was he did not give up!!!

Surprise, Dad made it to the event but missed the egg hunt. It's okay, we were just happy he could join us for the rest of the activities. They had roll the tire game, a clown making balloon animals, bouncy ball game and various activities. Oh, and I can't forget the park!!!! Noah is a true nature boy who loves to climb trees. Out of all the park toys, Noah played on this tree the most.

Shoes, shoes, and more shoes......

I can never find any fashionable shoes that come in size 5 or 5.5. I have been shopping for shoes at AMIclubwear.com which is based out of California. So you can image what the shipping might be but it's worth it to me because I do need shoes. Lately I haven't been finding a lot in my size, they must be phasing out of the smaller sizes, which sucks for me. Again, I had to investigate a different site to find stylish shoes that fit me. I was really excited when I ran into this site http://www.pretty-small-shoes.com/. It's a site only for women with petite feet, US size 2-5 and styles come right out of London. I really fell in love with all the shoes but not the price. Wow, how I wish I could win a million dollars. I would buy one of each color, but that will never happen any time soon. I will just have to save up and treat myself to one each year.

I love, love, love shoes!!!

Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!

I love..
Music of all sorts
The number three
Chocolates and ice cream
The colors blue, burgundy and brown
Being childish and laughing until I cry
The full bloom of fresh flowers in the spring
The way the sky looks as the sun is rising and setting
Long walks on the beach, the smell of the salty breeze and the sound of the waves
Sleeping in on weekends, cuddling with my little one and being lazy for the rest of the day
Laying on the chest of my love, listening to the sound of his heart beating, and
falling asleep in his arms
Receiving greeting cards
Good night kisses
Star lit sky on summer nights
The summer rain, rainbows ad the smell of fresh cut grass
Loving kisses, holding hands, and the tight embrace of my love
The sound of a piano, saxophone, or a guitar playing on a rainy night
To see the excitement on peoples face when they are surprised
My family and friends as we chat about our adventures
Using my mind and hands to bring things to life
These are a few things I hold dear to my heart and many more
As we are, always learning and growing
The list is never ending

GYM

Yesterday I went to the gym and participated in the cardio dance class. It was really fun!!! It was a bit strange because all of the moves that we did felt a little dirty. It’s like Carmen Electra’s Aerobic Striptease Video, very saucy (which I don’t own but now thinking about purchasing). Hahahah! At times it was intimidating because the instructor looks really good doing it, but you just have to have fun and learn to laugh at yourself for trying.

Yesterday I…...

Spent the day with my whole family at the Fort Worth Zoo

Today I…...

Plan to go the gym and spend some one on one time with my handsome little man, Noah

Tomorrow I…...

Will wake in the arms of my husband and know how lucky I am to be his wife and thank God for all the blessings he has given me and my family

Elijah and I have been extremely busy taping, painting, hammering, measuring, stapling, and sewing!! On Wednesday last week when played hooky, we painted the guest bathroom. I had fallen in love with the color green and decided to go a little out of my warm earth tone colors. Yes, you could say green is earth tone but wait until you see this green. It’s amazing!! Makes you want to stay in this room for ever, it so refreshing!!

As you all know I love to sew and love fabric so I had to incorporate fabric into this room. I decided to go with strips of green, white and chocolate brown. Elijah and I made these fabric canvas wall art for this room to make it look Upscale! It's perfect; the room was really coming together.

I wasn’t done yet! I bought some cheap towels for decorating only and put some of the leftover fabric on the ends to tie in the towels to the room. Fabric is never wasted!

Last is the head board for the overhead shower. I found a great buy on a brown leather fabric at JoAnn’s Fabric. It was the perfect match with white panels!!!

We are so HAPPY with this room and Noah loves the color! Elijah and I really enjoyed creating this room.

This pass weekend we also repainted the guest bedroom. It used to be Noah’s old room and we wanted to repaint it because Noah’s dirty foot and hand prints were all over the walls, as well as a spot he licked. We walked in on him licking the wall one day and when we asked why he did it. He replied, “I wanted to see what it taste like.” Elijah and I both laughed so hard!!! He did a little painting himself and no licking walls this time but he did ask his dad if he could eat to the cocking mixture. He thought it was cake mix. hahahha!!!

In this room I picked the colors yellow, white and black with a white boarder to look like chair rails. Elijah had suggested we put in real chair rails. I was a little spectacle at first because Elijah is not your average handyman but he was really trying and improving so I had to give him a chance. And I’m so glad because he did such a GREAT job!!! Very professional!!

We made canvas wall art in this room too.

This is my favorite part of the room and I think makes the room. I originally wanted to put a large wire Eiffel Tower wall art in the middle of the canvases but I had to settle for an Eiffel tower decal. I found one at hobby lobby that wouldn’t ruin the paint if I ever wanted to change it. This is what it looks like!!! Do you love it or what?!

We are PROUD of this room! When you enter, you can’t help to be HAPPY and OPTIMISTIC.

Elijah and I haven’t seen much of each other within the last two weeks because he has been working hard during the weekends. So we decided to play hooky for the day. We had such an AMAZING time!!!!
We’ve wanted to do some painting around the house and decided this would be a good day to do a small area. We decided to do the guest bathroom. Home Depot is a WONDERFUL place and spent an hour or two deciding on a color and measuring and cutting wood to make canvas wall art out of fabric. Elijah is so WONDERFUL!!! He always lets me live out my creative side.
Before going home we went to Starbucks to grab some coffee and spent some time there talking and listening to music. It was so GREAT because I felt like a teenager again! I felt like we were skipping school and being bad! Hahaha!!
We spent most of the day remodeling the guest bathroom and building canvas frames. But my FAVORITE part of the day was lunch. We took a break from painting and went to one of his favorite place to eat, The Taste of Asia. If you really want to make him happy, just get him SUSHI!!! He loves it! Anyway, we had such a GREAT time talking about how we’ve both grown so much as a person, Noah of course, friends, and the future. Sometimes it’s hard to have something to talk about when you’ve been married for so long. I once heard, “You can always tell if a couple is married when they are just looking around from a single couple who are involved into each other’s conversation”. It’s really great to realize I can still have that with him. GOD has truly BLESSED me with an AMAZING husband and family!!

I would like to dedicate this blog to my two must WONDERFUL BEST FRIENDS in the world, PAULA and MARIA FE! We have been friends ever since we were 10 years of age. Like most childhood friends we had our ups and downs and falling out but we all managed to come together again and again. I know that no matter how hard things get I can ALWAYS run to them for SUPPORT and they will not JUDGE me. I can always count on them to tell me their GOD honest opinion, and not to mention their trust and loyalty to me. A TRUE FRIEND is hard to find and I am so LUCKY to have them in my life. I love you, girls!!!!

So this weekend a had a CRAZY itch to make some pillows for the living room. I have been wanting to get some new pillows to dress up the couch for some time now, but always talked myself out of buying them. For those of you who don't know me, I love to SEW! It's one of my favorite hobbies!! This pass year was quit busy for us doing things here, there and I never had time to do any sewing. So I decided to do some sewing and this is what I made!!!

I was talking to one of Elijah’s coworkers and he mentioned that he spends more time with Elijah than we do. It’s CRAZY but they do!! I never really thought about it like that but we do spend more time with our coworkers then we do with our family. We spend about 40hrs/wk or more working and by the time we get home we only have an hour or two to spend eating dinner and getting ready for bed. It’s SAD to think of it that way!
We really have to enjoy every little second we have with our family. With the way the world is going it doesn’t seem like it’s going to slow down anytime soon.

The FIRST WEDNESDAY of every month is great for us. It's our only day of the week to slow down and have some real family time together. Last night I prepared something easy, fun and light! It was really FUN!

Wow, this year has been going by too FAST!! It’s already March!! But I am so READY for SUMMER!! This spring/summer we plan on taking more adventures in the outdoors. I have never been camping so I would definitely like to do that! Last year my girlfriends and I went floating on the Guadalupe River and it was so much fun!! I would like to get our family members from AR and my sister in Houston together and maybe get a rental house near the river. It’s hard to see everyone at the same time because my sister moved to Houston to be closer to her husband’s work and Elijah’s family are all in Arkansas. Before it was easy because they all lived in AR and we would just divide our days to spend with them. And the KIDS are AMAZING together!!! So far it’s 7 BOYS and 1 GIRL in our whole family!!
Elijah and I are behind because we haven’t had our second CHILD! We’ve been trying since September of 2009 and NOTHING!!! With Noah it was quick, Elijah came home from Korea for R&R and we only had a two week window. Two months later I had a little BEAN growing in my belly. Yeah, I called him BEAN and ANN (mother-in-law) thought that was soo FUNNY! I wish she was still with us and in good health so that she could enjoy all her grand kids but I know she is with us in good spirits now. We’ve kind of given up trying but not being safe about it. If it happens it happens if not, I know that GOD will bless us when the TIME IS RIGHT!

So this winter has been long!! Longer than I expected...usually by this time it's warm in TEXAS. I am so ready for SPRING and SUMMER to arrive! I love warm/hot climate! I don’t know how I survived in ALASKA for three years but I did. Anything less than 75 degrees to me is COLD. I can’t sleep without a blanket over me and Elijah hates it! But I think over the 10 years we’ve been married he has grown to get used to it. I love him dearly!!

My plans for tonight are to spend some quality time with my son, Noah and get some reading in with Elijah. I usually pick Noah up from school on Tuesdays and Thursdays because Elijah has school until 830pm. Noah loves to color, dance, ♫sing funny words (made-up by him)♫, make me laugh, and playing with his new transformer car who he named VOLT (like the movie BOLT). Lately he has been taking care of himself by bathing, lotioning, dressing, and brushing his teeth himself. It’s really GREAT that he does this but at the same time it’s sad because he is growing up. Sometime I try to help him and he refuses my help. He still likes to be read to, so that is a PLUS for me!! Noah is such a LOVEABLE person!! We are so PROUD of the person he is molding into. Okay, this is enough before I start tearing up and can’t finish this blog.

Elijah and I a reading this book called “The 5 Love Languages: How to express heartfelt commitment to your mate”. The author Gary Chapman believes that everyone has a love tank, and that love tank is filled by different love languages. These languages are: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. This book is very interesting and it’s a bit of an EYE OPENER. I didn’t realize this but we often tend to give love in our fluent love language but that may not be what our spouse’s primary love language. I recommend for all my friends to read this book regardless they are marriage or not. I found out about this book through a couple of my friends and decided to look into it!! I’m GLAD I did!! I think mine is Physical Touch but I haven’t gotten to the end of the book. At the end there are a couple of questions and based on your answers it tells you what your primary Lo♥e Language is. I hope this book finds it's way into your heart because it's GREAT!!!
